Paul Cezanne > Day's Cottages - The Blizzard of 2009. All Provincetown artists use these cottages in their work, the line of identical cottages is iconic to the Outer Cape. I've thought for awhile what "my" Day's shots would be. I knew I'd take this one, but I thought it would be in fog. I head out, during white out conditions, during the Blizzard of 2009 for this shot. I never thought it would be a snow, not a fog, shot.

The winds were 40 to 50mph. I had hoped for some great crashing waves shots, but of course the harbor is protected during a Nor'easter. But still, the water was about a foot or two from flooding the cottages. But when I saw how the snow obscured the distant cottages, I knew I had the shot. I got lucky in that the lens was getting covered with drops, but for some reason this shot came out clear.

(And yes, I know Day's Cottages are in Truro, not Provincetown.)

Paul Cezanne > Sunset on the backyards of some houses at the abandoned North Truro Air Force Base. This is the same house that the previous interior shot was taken from. You can see the windows that the light came through. I shot that shot through the window just to the right of the plywood.

Paul Cezanne > An interior from the abandoned Air Force Base in North Truro. I blocked most of the reflections of the outside with my hat but some of the outside leaked through. I could see that through the shutter and thought I would have to crop it out, but when I saw it, I love the sight of it, the 'real world' leaking through.
